Check calculator rules before exam day
A capable calculator is not automatically an eligible exam calculator.

The idea
The College Board calculator policy checked on 12 September 2026 excludes calculators with computer algebra system (CAS) functionality from SAT Suite assessments. It also explains that SAT and AP policies are not necessarily identical. Treat a manufacturer’s broad “exam” description as a starting point, not permission for your particular test.
Try it in your routine
Before buying, open the organizer’s current policy for your exact exam and date. Compare the complete model name and features, including CAS, connectivity and stored programs. Ask your teacher or exam organizer if anything is unclear. Keep the official page handy and check again before test day.
Choose your tools
Practice with the calculator you plan to use rather than learning a new keyboard during the exam. Check its power requirements and preparation instructions. The linked policy is the authority; this short article does not replace it and cannot certify an individual model for every course or country.
